Final Sprint to Close the Year · Decisive Victory for the Whole Year | The Energy and Power Plant has been mapping out the energy landscape with hard work and writing the answer sheet of efficiency creation with data!

The New Year's Day is approaching. With an unyielding spirit and a sense of responsibility, the Energy and Power Plant of Hebei Xinda Steel Group Co., Ltd. is intensifying its efforts, with the drumbeat of the final sprint growing more urgent. Focusing on achieving the annual targets and planning for the new year's development, the plant is measuring its responsibility with its footsteps and demonstrating its commitment through hard work. It strives to bring the year's work to a successful conclusion and accumulate strong momentum for the new year's development. 

With the mission of ensuring energy supply firmly in mind, remarkable achievements have been made in energy creation and efficiency. 

The Energy and Power Plant has always regarded ensuring energy supply as its top priority, laying a solid energy foundation for the stable operation of the company. From January to November, all staff members, with a high sense of responsibility and superb skills, accomplished the power generation tasks with high quality. The power generation volume increased by 12.14% year-on-year, exceeding the planned value by 6.0631 million kWh, and achieved an economic benefit of 3.2741 million yuan. All substations maintained safe operation throughout the year, with a power supply guarantee rate of 100%. The oxygen purity in the oxygen production workshop remained consistently above 99.6%, providing a reliable gas source for smelting production. By precisely implementing peak shaving and valley filling electricity usage, a total of 15.0588 million yuan was saved in electricity fees from January to November. The recovery volume of converter gas exceeded the planned value by 3.46 m³/t, generating an economic benefit of 250,900 yuan. The steam recovery volume per ton of steel exceeded the plan by 2.93 kg/t, increasing the economic benefit by 1.1422 million yuan. In addition, the 220,000-kilovolt substation was successfully put into operation, significantly optimizing the power grid structure and saving 51.8 million yuan in capacity fees and electricity fees annually. These solid figures not only bear witness to the hard work of all employees but also represent the solid support that the Energy and Power Plant has provided for the company's development. 

Strengthen the foundation of safety and safeguard stable development. 

Safety is the fundamental prerequisite for a successful conclusion. The Energy and Power Plant has always prioritized safe production and achieved a year of production without any accidents. Focusing on key areas such as the "Four Precautions in Winter", environmental protection governance, and project construction, a tight prevention and control network has been established. The risk classification control and dynamic inspection mechanism have been strengthened to ensure early detection and prompt handling of all kinds of potential hazards, thus building a solid barrier for a successful conclusion. 

For ongoing power generation projects, we will strictly enforce the principal responsibility, regularly organize safety training and inspections for external contractors, and create a safe and reliable construction environment. We will implement full-process supervision over high-risk links such as confined space operations, high-altitude work, and lifting operations to ensure that safety measures are implemented in every position and every process. At the same time, we will spare no effort to advance the goal of grid connection and power generation, coordinate personnel, materials and technical support, strictly control the construction period and quality, and ensure that the project is put into operation on schedule and with high quality, achieving seamless integration between infrastructure construction and production. 

Deepen lean management and enhance efficiency through small improvements and innovations. 

The Energy and Power Plant has been deeply implementing lean management, taking "minor reforms and innovations" as the key point to fully stimulate the innovative vitality of all staff. From January to November, a total of 199 improvement proposals were submitted, generating an economic benefit of 2.5195 million yuan; 220 self-improvements and 25 special improvement projects were completed, achieving cost reduction and efficiency enhancement of 1.5592 million yuan, demonstrating the effectiveness and potential of lean management. 

In terms of the maintenance and technical transformation of power generation system equipment, we have continuously explored the potential for cost reduction in the process. We independently completed the replacement of the packing in the waste heat power generation cooling tower and the cleaning of the condenser, saving about 450,000 yuan in maintenance costs, improving the vacuum degree of the unit by approximately 10 kPa, and increasing the power generation by 600 kWh per hour, generating an average monthly benefit of 233,300 yuan. In response to the cavitation problem of the vacuum pump body, we achieved a benefit of 35,000 yuan through welding and grinding. We independently repaired the generator shaft seal fan, the motor of the feed pump oil station, and others, saving 5,000 yuan. By cleaning the cold oiler, we saved 10,000 yuan in external commissioning fees and reduced the oil temperature by 14℃, ensuring the stable operation of the unit. 

Push forward key projects and complete the construction of charging piles. 

In response to the national "dual carbon" strategy, the Energy and Power Plant has successfully completed the installation and commissioning of the charging piles in the factory area, laying a solid foundation for the electrification upgrade of logistics vehicles. 

This project was personally deployed by the factory's leader Yan Xuejun, and implemented under the leadership of Zhang Wenjia, the director of the maintenance workshop. Multiple departments worked in coordination to advance the project. The team overcame adverse conditions such as high temperatures and rainfall, and completed the laying of 1,500 meters of high-voltage cables and over 2,800 meters of low-voltage cables within just 12 days. They also installed 6 transformer boxes, 18 electrical control cabinets, and 30 charging piles, and laid over 200 meters of cable trays. The maintenance workshop efficiently completed the power transmission and debugging. Throughout the process, recycled materials were utilized, saving approximately 770,000 yuan in material procurement costs and 126,000 yuan in external construction fees, effectively reducing the company's total carbon emissions. 

By skillfully implementing energy-saving strategies, the potential for benefits is unleashed. 

Facing the hard target set by the group to strive for the outstanding value of "electricity consumption per ton of steel", the Energy and Power Plant successfully broke through the target with a unique "power-saving code". From January to November 2025, the electricity cost per ton of steel decreased by 12.55 yuan compared with the same period of the previous year, saving a total of over 98 million yuan in electricity costs. 

Carry out a special investigation of "data mining", establish "electricity consumption files" for key equipment, accurately identify hidden energy consumption points such as dust removal fans and circulating pumps, and draw "peak and valley operation maps" to classify and control the operation of equipment according to electricity price periods. For example, in the sintering process, materials are prepared during the off-peak period, the blast furnace coal injection operates at full capacity during the off-peak and flat periods, the steelmaking process arranges the material loading and ladle baking operations reasonably to avoid peak periods, and the rolling process flexibly arranges the waiting for materials and lathe operations. For gas power generation, the "cabinet capacity breathing algorithm" is innovatively applied to store gas before the peak period and send it to the generator set, and the off-peak period is flexibly adjusted to increase the self-generated electricity during the peak period. In addition, by promptly addressing issues such as internal leakage of circulating pump valves, unplanned shutdowns are reduced, ensuring the continuous and stable operation of the power generation system.

All staff and workers will remain at their posts and fulfill their duties, fine-tune the operating conditions of the units, steadily increase power generation and oxygen output, continuously carry out energy conservation and consumption reduction, and improve the proportion of self-generated power. They will also fully promote key projects such as energy storage power stations and the line modification of substations to ensure their high-quality operation on schedule.
